2010 is a significant year as it marks the completion of many key developments around Marina Bay. Experience the celebratory mood of the New Year's Eve event all over again through the photography exhibition featuring the winning and shortlisted entries that captured the unique aspects of the Marina Bay SINGAPORE Countdown 2009/10, set againist the new dynamic urban landscape that is unfolding at Marina Bay. Come view the magnificent photographs showcasing the spectacular visual art installation of the wishing spheres in the Bay, the breathtaking fireworks display and the festive moments shared by family and friends along the Marina Bay waterfront!

Capture the Festivity of New Year’s Eve
Against the Singapore City Skyline at Marina Bay

The Marina Bay SINGAPORE Countdown is a contemplative celebration that brings people from all walks of life together and connects them through a collective expression of their wishes for the New Year.

Through special wishing stations located throughout the island, members of the public can make their wish by writing on white spheres. This year, 20,000 spheres carrying the wishes of the community will be released into the Marina Bay waters from mid December onwards. On New Year’s Eve, the spheres will be specially lit in an inspirational visual arts presentation that sets the entire bay gleaming with the wishes of the people.

At the stroke of midnight, another exciting visual treat will unfurl through a vibrant fireworks display along the bay, choreographed to original music composed specially for the event.

A seamless extension of the existing Central Business District, Marina Bay forms the perfect backdrop for this New Year’s Eve tradition. It has been planned with people in mind, allowing both the community and visitors to Singapore access the waterfront area to enjoy the attractions and activities against our signature city skyline.
